I’ve been hyping about this box for months! I’m a pretty big fan of The Folk of The Air series, so I could not wait to read the last book in the series. And, of course, I had to have book boxes of it. I bought two and the first one was from Owlcrate! I had pretty high expectations. Spoiler alert: they did not come out…
The first item I took out of the box were faerie lights. Which are adorable, but do not really have anything to do with the series. Also, why would you make something like this USB-based? That’s definitely not a good idea.
The second item was a tin enamel mug with artwork from Holly Dunn. Sadly, it was a bit banged up, which easily happens with these types of mugs. I liked the artwork and the subtle nod to the cover of Queen Of Nothing, but it did not immediately give me QON vibes.
The third item I LOVED though. It’s a small tapestry with artwork from Stella Bookish Art. I love her work and i cant wait to display this one! It fits the series perfectly and is so gorgeous!
The next item was also a big hit for me. I’m a sucker for enamel pins, so this beautiful beetle pin from Alchemy and Ink was perfect for me. I am really curious to find out what it refers to in the book!
But the next item was probably my biggest dissapointment. I love usable items, so when I saw the tea spoons, I was definitely hoping they were usable. But they aren’t! It seems they are for decoration only. And I also did not really like the design, it was a bit too much for me. And again, it is not something that really got anything to do with the series.
The coasters are pretty cute. They are all based on a quote from the book and I love that! So yes, I am a fan of the coasters. The design is made by the amazing KDP Letters.
The trinket dish was cute, but there was also a trinket dish in the september box from Owlcrate. I would have liked some original materials. It is pretty though! It’s made by Literary Lifestyle Company.
The serving tray was broken sadly. I’ve glued it together for this pic, but I can’t put something on it, or it will break again. The design is okay, but not that great, and I don’t really know if I can use this, but okay. The design is by Holly Dunn.
I really don’t understand the choice of one of the prints. The art of both of them is gorgeous, but why would you ever make a holographic like thing with an artprint? I understand if other people love it, but I don’t. It kinda hurts my head and I want to enjoy the art, without it being so shiny. It’s also hard to take a decent picture of. The artwork is made by Mélanie Bourgeois.
Last, but definitely not least, is the book itself. It’s so incredibly gorgeous! It also holds an author letter, a signature and even an additional enamel pin from the publisher Little, Brown! I will not keep it though. I bought the box for the goodies and I don’t have the other covers, so I would rather have someone have it, who wants to complete their collection!
I was pretty dissapointed to be honest. When I saw the quality of Owlcrate’s Finale box, I couldn’t wait to find out what they were planning for this one. But it felt like it was more a standard box around the subject Faerie, instead of it being a special box for Queen Of Nothing. I will keep a few of the items, but will also sell a few items. I hoped for more real artwork and special items, but it did not feel special at all.
What is your favorite item from this box?
